Dr. Kimberly Cox is a 2002 graduate of the Michigan State
University College of Veterinary Medicine. She
completed her pre-veterinary course work at Wayne
State University. She has been on staff at Southpointe
Veterinary Hospital since 1997, first as a volunteer,
then a veterinary assistant and now as a veterinarian.
In January of 2007, Dr. Cox also became a part
owner of Southpointe Veterinary Hospital.
Dr. Cox is an active member of the American Veterinary
Medical Association, the Michigan Veterinary Medical
Association, the Southeastern Michigan Veterinary
Medical Association and the Association of Reptilian
and Amphibian Veterinarians.
Dr. Cox is also a contributing author to the
Downriver News Herald “Ask a Vet”
column.
Her professional interests include dogs, cats,
and exotics, especially birds and reptiles. She
has a special interest in surgery and ultrasound.
Her personal pets include a dog, 2 cats, birds,
and 3 tortoises.
