Director of In-patient Care,
Kim Killingsworth L.V.T. |

Kim is responsible for overseeing the treatment
and care of our patients in the hospital.
She joined the Southpointe team in June 2004.
Kim has an Associates of Applied Science degree
in Veterinary Technology from Wayne County Community
College.
Kim’s family includes her husband, Dave,
and son, Travis. Her four-legged family includes
a Belgian mare and golden retrievers. Her hobbies
include horseback riding, camping (definitely
the dog’s favorite!), nature walks and riding
four wheelers.

Tonya White, L.V.T

Tonya
has been an L.V.T. (licensed veterinary technician) since 1991. Tonya
graduated from Wayne County Community College with an Associates of Applied
Science in Veterinary Technology. She has been employed at Southpointe
since 1998.
Tonya has a Doberman named
Tessa and a Jack Russell terrier mix named Spot. She also has three cats:
Nitemare, Kat-Lin, and Meg; a guinea pig, John, a parakeet, Dominique,
and a fish, Eeyore.
Tonya's human family includes her husband, Robert
and three daughters, Autumn, Elizabeth and Melissa.

Jane Kushnir, L.V.T.

Jane graduated from the Veterinary Technician Program
at Wayne Community College with an associate’s
degree and became an L.V.T. in 1990. She started
her career in emergency medicine and has been
at Southpointe since 1999.
Everyday is rewarding. Our profession is a life-long education
and there is always something new that I can learn that enables me to
provide the best care for our patients and their families. I am dedicated
to promoting compassionate veterinary care for all animals, especially
for those who have shared so many years of our lives. Our bond grows stronger
as we age gracefully, and healthy, together.”

Kristin DeVito, L.V.T. |

Kristin is a licensed veterinary
technician (LVT) at Southpointe. She graduated from
Wayne State University in 1996 with an Associate’s
Degree in Applied Science. With her profound love
for animals, she sought a career in veterinary medicine.
Interacting with owners and their pets is such a
rewarding experience. The staff at Southpointe is
always so caring and knowledgeable, that it makes
a great atmosphere in which to work. My husband
and I enjoy the four seasons and all outdoor activities.
We also both share a love for all sporting breeds
of dogs. Our only pet is "Macleod". He is a 6-year-old
Gordon Setter. |
Debbie Welbes L.V.T.

Debbie has been a veterinary technician since 1980. She passed the technician
exam to become licensed in 1989. She has special
interest in emergency medicine, which she started
her career working in. Debbie also has interest
and knowledge in chemotherapy, radiology, chronic
renal failure in cats, dog breeding and genetics.
She has experience showing purebred cats.
Debbie started working at Southpointe in 1998 and is the person that
everyone calls on for the handling of the “special
kitties”, the ones who do not want to be
handled. She also has a special place in her heart
for Persians, Rottweilers, Dobermans, Boxers,
Great Danes as well as Italian Greyhounds.

Lindsey Zajas

Lindsey joined our team in November 2000 as a kennel attendant. She is now
a Veterinary Assistant, assisting our doctors
with providing excellent care to our patients.
Lindsey’s family consists
of her 3 cats and her bird named Louis (who has quite a set of lungs on
him!)

Michelle Jankowski, L.V.T. |

Michelle recently
graduated from Wayne County Community College
with a degree in veterinary technology. She is
awaiting the results from the state board test
to become a Licensed Veterinary Technician (L.V.T.)
Michelle is very happy for the opportunity to
work in such a great environment--"the animals,
owners, and staff are wonderful!"
Michelle has two dogs: Wishbone (6) who's a Jack
Russell terrier, and a 7-month-old Great Pyrenes
named Zelda. She also has a one-year-old white
and grey tabby cat named Isabelle.

I've helped
many animals since I was very young starting with
my first rescue (a wild bird) and have worked
in the veterinary field for over 10 yrs. I'm a
recent graduate from WCCCD in Veterinary Technology
and will be taking board exams to become an L.V.T.(Licensed
Veterinary Technician).
I love what I do and I'm blessed to work with
people so knowledgeable and passionate about their
patients & owners and even patients that don't
have owners.
My furry family consists of 3 dogs, Jackie(4),
Abby(1 1/2) & Cody(3) and 5 cats, Callie(19
1/2), Toey(12), Tommy(5), Lilly(2) & Amelia(2).
My non-furry family, are my husband Dave and daughters
Eleana & Sarah. Our favorite things to do
are going to our house in the U.P., jet skiing
and just hanging out together.
